PRISM
Neurofeedback

PRISM is an FDA-cleared, medication-free, non-invasive treatment designed to alleviate symptoms of chronic PTSD.

Where remission from lifelong suffering can happen in the span of a few weeks

PRISM is an FDA cleared in-office protocol that uses neurofeedback to treat symptoms of PTSD. This noninvasive neuromodulation device trains patients to control key neural connections between the amygdala and frontal cortex.

PTSD treatment without discussing or reliving past events

During PRISM treatment, a computer simulation and EEG headset create an environment where patients engage in a non-trauma-based experience to help them learn to control their PTSD symptoms. Prism is the first PTSD treatment based on a digital brain-mechanism-specific biomarker associated with mental health disorders.

Up to 67% of patients experience significant improvement in their PTSD symptoms.

PRISM | Benefits & Outcomes

  • PRISM training equips the brain to shift perception and automatic reactions, helping you move past traumatic events without discussing or reliving them

  • PRISM facilitates the therapy to your unique brain activity patterns. Personalization enhances treatment effectiveness by addressing specific dysregulations associated with PTSD.

  • PRISM does not involve medication or invasive procedures. It offers an alternative for individuals who prefer non-pharmacological approaches.

  • PRISM encourages active participation from patients. Patients learn self-regulation techniques, which can empower them to manage their symptoms independently.
  • PTSD

    • In clinical trials, 67% of patients had a significant improvement in their PTSD symptoms after a full course of treatment.

    • 32% of patients had symptoms disappear completely— achieving remission, in the same trial.

    • Neurofeedback retrains the brain to alleviate stuck patterns associated with PTSD, offering symptom relief and improving mental health

How effective is PRISM for PTSD?

PRISM is a powerful approach for treating PTSD, with many individuals reporting significant improvements after just a few sessions.

Progress often continues even after the treatment ends, offering hope and tangible results for those facing the challenges of PTSD. PRISM stands out as a drug-free, fast, and effective therapy, with clinical trials demonstrating substantial reductions in PTSD symptoms.

This method emphasizes active patient participation, leading to high levels of satisfaction and acceptance, paving the way for a brighter and more resilient future.

Frequently Asked Questions About PRISM

What is PRISM for PTSD

PRISM for PTSD is a cutting-edge therapy that employs neurofeedback techniques to address the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). By leveraging advanced technology to monitor brain activity in real-time, this approach enables individuals to better regulate their responses, offering a pathway to potentially reduce PTSD symptoms.

How does PRISM work?

During a PRISM session, individuals sit in a calm environment while wearing an EEG headset that tracks their brain activity. The headset communicates with a computer that provides feedback based on brain patterns linked to PTSD. By observing and adjusting their brain responses, individuals can work towards retraining their brain function, potentially reducing PTSD symptoms over time.

Is PRISM safe?

Yes! PRISM is a non-invasive, drug-free therapy that uses real-time brain activity monitoring to help individuals regulate their responses to PTSD symptoms. Since it doesn't involve medications or invasive procedures, the risks are minimal, making it a safe option for many individuals dealing with PTSD.

Is any special preparation required?

There's no special preparation needed - you can eat normally, take your medications, and won't be put to sleep during the treatment. You can drive yourself to and from the clinic, and many patients return to work or school right after.

How do I know if PRISM is right for me?

PRISM is ideal for individuals with PTSD, mood disorders, or anxiety who haven’t found success with medications or traditional therapies. A consultation with a specialist will involve a thorough evaluation of your medical history, symptom severity, and brain activity patterns to personalize the treatment. If you're looking for a cutting-edge, non-invasive option with a tailored approach, PRISM could be a strong fit.

Does PRISM have any side effects?

PRISM is generally well-tolerated, with mild side effects like scalp discomfort, headaches, or temporary dizziness. Serious side effects, such as seizures, are extremely rare, and PRISM's precise targeting may reduce the risk of unwanted effects compared to conventional methods.

What is the PRISM course of treatment?

A standard course of treatment typically includes 15 sessions taking place over 8 weeks, with booster sessions as needed. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes. A customized treatment plan will be created under the supervision of our Medical Advisor.

How soon will I see results from PRISM?

The timeline for seeing results from PRISM can vary from person to person. Some individuals may begin to notice improvements in their PTSD symptoms after just a few sessions, while others might require several weeks of consistent treatment to experience significant changes. Typically, noticeable results are often observed within 10 to 20 sessions, but the full benefits may continue to develop over time, even after the therapy concludes. It's important to have realistic expectations and work closely with our healthcare provider to monitor progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed.

Will I need to continue PRISM indefinitely?

Most people do not need to continue PRISM long-term once they complete their initial course of treatment. However, follow-up sessions or maintenance therapy may be recommended, especially in times of stress or if symptoms of PTSD return.

Help me understand my payment options.

As of November 2024, PRISM is not covered by private or government insurance programs. However, we offer a reduced flat rate for treatment in alignment with our mission as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This option can be discussed during the consultation process.
